New Patient Information

We offer  complimentary free consultation orthodontic appointments and upfront information.

There is nothing more frustrating to a new patient than to call a doctor′s office and find out they cannot be scheduled for an orthodontic appointment for weeks – or even months. Just as it was with you – new patients are a priority in the Smiles Orthodontics office here in Wichita. Therefore, we have reserved times throughout the day to welcome new patients. You have our word that the friends and family you refer to our office will be seen as soon as possible. It is our belief, however, that a new family deserves uninterrupted attention for this important orthodontic appointment, so they will not be scheduled during the especially hectic “after-school” time.

Insurance and payment options:

Our Wichita office is committed to helping you receive your full insurance benefits. As a courtesy, we will file all insurance claims for you and make any necessary contacts on your behalf. However, since insurance policies vary, we cannot guarantee the extent of coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. If you have any questions, our courteous staff is always available to answer them.

We have three different payment options that you can choose from depending on your current financial situation. The flexibility of offering three different options allows you to determine what  the best fit for you and your family is. We also offer discounts for pay-in-fulls and families with multiple family members in treatment or have undergone treatment with us in the past. We do not want the “money part” to get in the way of a healthy beautiful smile. We are always here to help.

What To Expect At Your First Orthodontic Appointment:

Your first visit here at Smiles Orthodontics in Wichita consists of a thorough evaluation by the doctor on your orthodontic needs. After the initial evaluation, we will let you know if you need treatment or not. We will also let you know the treatment options. We may at this time take diagnostic records, which are necessary for developing the appropriate treatment plan.

We encourage all the family members involved to ask questions during every orthodontic appointment!! After all, that’s the only way you can get answers and have a clear understanding of what to expect. We want our patients to leave the office with a clear understanding of their specific treatment plan.

What we will look for at the initial exam is:

  • Is treatment needed now or should treatment be delayed until later?
  • What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem? What options do we have?
  • How long will treatment take?
  • Do any permanent teeth need to be removed?
  • How to take care of my teeth and braces once I have my braces put on?
  • How much will it cost and what are my payment options?

Since treatment plans and payment options may be discussed, we ask that a parent or guardian be present for the first orthodontic appointment or visit.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your first visit:

If you have orthodontic insurance, bring your insurance card. By providing this information at your first visit, we will be able to give you an estimate of your costs.
